Summary:
Demonstrators exhibit our quality products in retail locations to attract prospective customers and generate sales leads. Successful candidates will be outgoing, intelligent, neat in appearance and be able to maintain a tidy booth for varied shifts. They will be flexible and willing to work at retail locations and festivals as assigned.
Lead generation is the measuring stick of success in this role. Full time employees should be able to generate 4 leads within an 8 hour shift. Part time demonstrators are expected to generate at least 2 appointments per shift
Position Requirements:
- The ability to work in all permanent and contracted locations where Best Value conducts business.
- The ability to stand for 6-8 hour shifts.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Schedule flexibility.
- The ability and willingness to travel to different stores in the Hampton Roads area.
- The ability to consistently generate leads.
Experience Requirements and Preferences:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience in a role that requires public interaction.

Sales Representative:
Summary:
The Sales Representative is responsible for the sale of whole-home performance solutions related to energy efficiency, comfort, and durability. In-home consultations will include a comprehensive assessment with an energy audit, development of a solution/quote and work scope and closing of the product and service sale. The individual is responsible for answering customer questions about products, prices and service availability and for reviewing the job site to ensure that the work can be performed in a timely and efficient manner.
Sales Functions
- Prepares creative action plans and schedules for identifying prospective customers
and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge.
- Consistently sources and follows up on new leads and referrals.
- Establish and maintain outstanding customer relationships.
- Have a complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
- Develops presentations of quotes and work scopes for job completion.
- Sells consultatively and recommends solutions which include products and services based on customer needs and interests.
- Effectively maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing product and service sales.
- Embodies and communicates the brand image though the in-home sales process as well as through supplemental customer relationship building initiatives.
- Monitors market conditions, product innovations and competitors’ products, prices and sales.
Technical Functions
- Performs residential comprehensive home assessments, building measurements and an energy audit with a blower door.
- Reviews the job site during assessment and notes any unique situations including safety concerns that may require special attention.
- Provides knowledge and expertise of home products and systems.
- Including building dynamics, HVAC, insulation, windows, and water heating.
- Models and analyzes home performance characteristics with an approved home energy audit software package using a laptop computer.
Preferred experience
- Selling external home renovation products.
- Ability to perform calculations for materials needed
Education/Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 years of prior in-home sales experience.
- Experience with whole house energy simulation software, Home Energy Rating software or other building energy analysis tools (blower door, duct blaster, I.R. camera, etc.) a plus.
- Experience in construction or home energy efficiency services a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform simple calculations, capable of performing "what if" analyses.
- Ability to create and modify complex quotes for large projects.
Technology Skills
- Capable of running home performance software calculations.
- Capable of compiling professional sales presentations.
Additional Skills
- Requires self-management and project management ability.
- Should possess enthusiasm and a passion for energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and quality service.
- Should possess knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

Certifications, Registrations or Licenses
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and insurance.
Physical Demands
Work is performed in a home-based sales environment with travel between appointments. In-home sales consultations will require some physical activity including but not limited to; attic inspection, basement/crawlspace inspection, blower door assembly, and the need to move various objects for access.
Special requirements of Job
- Need to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Travel as required.

Telemarketer Position
Summary:
Best Value Remodelers seeks an experienced telemarketer that is a top-notch professional in outbound calling. Background in residential remodeling a plus.
You must be energetic, goal-oriented, and sales focused. The candidate offered the position must demonstrate they are not afraid to pick up the phone, be highly organized, and have the ability to book appointments for our direct sales reps.
Responsibilities:
- Establish contact with prospects through outbound phone calls
- Generate leads, set appointments and update prospect database
- Cold-calling new potential customers
- Warm-calling, emailing and follow up calls to current customers
- Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers
- Ability to stay on task and meet weekly goals. 2 appointments for part-time employees and 4 per shift for full- time
- Participate in product, process and sales training
- Meet or exceed minimum goals for each month/quarter
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Candidate must be able to:
- Outbound customer service agents must be capable typists and have a working knowledge of computers. They need to possess excellent communication abilities, and be organized, professional, courteous and resilient in attempting to make a sale.
- Initiate and follow-up with customers and providers to sell or resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence and reports
- Effectively and professionally communicate with prospects, internal staff, and senior management
- Probe and ask appropriate questions to prospects to obtain useful information
- Be energetic and upbeat
- Influence and persuade decision makers
- Deal with difficult or resistant prospects on the phone
- Overcome negative comments and remain committed and dedicated to lead generation
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Be a proficient record keeper.
Minimum Qualaifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry experience and/or sales experience is preferred
- Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Skill and ability to call new prospects, listen, and set appointment for sales reps
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
Earnings: $9.00 per hour plus bonuses for successful leads
